Restoring Rocky Branch

In partnership with the City, Congresswoman Deborah Ross secured $1 million+ in federal funds to begin restoration of Rocky Branch Creek. Running through the north side of Dix Park along Western Boulevard, the creek is recognized as an impaired stream — it receives excessive pollution and contributes to a degraded ecosystem. The Dix Park Master Plan has identified restoring the creek as a top priority. This will be an amazing place to play and be surrounded by nature. The effort will take some years and additional monies – in time for my daughter Cadence to enjoy.
