CACs are Back.

The CACs (citizen advisory councils) are back! Read this Indy article to learn about the next era of community engagement approved by City Council earlier this month. If you want to stay up to date on city affairs and get together with neighbors to improve issues of local concern, CACs are worth checking out. Below is information about active CACs in District D and opportunities for getting your local group going again.

This is a map with the 19 original CACs. About half are active and the other half will have the opportunity to start anew. Raleigh’s Office of Community Engagement will provide information to past leaders of these group by March 1st about how to re-start. Stay tuned about how to get involved in those groups.

Active District D CACs:

West Raleigh CAC meets once/month on the 4th Wednesday at 7 pm. Email westraleighcac@gmail.com to get on their listserv.

Southwest Raleigh Community Engagement group (formerly CAC) meets on the 2nd Monday of the month at 7 pm. Sign up at http://eepurl.com/gT5uY9 to get on their listserv.

Hillsborough-Wade CAC meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 7 pm. Email inform@nc.rr.com to get on their listserv.

District D Neighborhood Alliance (not a CAC) meets on the 3rd Saturday of the month at 9:30 am at the Thomas Crowder Woodland Center. Sign up at http://eepurl.com/gT5uY9 to get on their listserv.
